I love creating with people and leading them to find their voices and artistic expression in new ways. The unique blend of music, science, artistry, and community building that I offer aims to uplift, engage, and challenge participants to find renewed ways of experiencing their talents.
I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with a diverse range of festival ensembles, to clinician groups around the country, and to teach voice science workshops. Having presented at campuses like Harvard University, Curry College, The University of Colorado, Oregon State University, Southern Oregon University, CalArts, Chaffey College, Portland State University, and The University of Southern California, and for churches and voice studios like Calvary Presbyterian in San Francisco, Montview Presbyterian in Denver, and the Shameless Singing Studio in Nashville, around the world in Canada, South America, and Europe, and at conferences for the American Choral Director Association, Pan-American Vocology Association, Acoustic Society of America, and Vocology in Practice, I am experienced in a wide array of settings.
I enjoy the energy that comes from people who want to try new things with their voices, and who like to connect with each other in a new environment. I appreciate the role that I play as the leader in these experiences, and spend time encouraging the singers to connect with one another, and to reflect on the music and their reaction. I’ve found that certain aspects of voice science communicate directly to singers, helping them to immediately feel “a-ha” moments, which gives them confidence and energy. I choose music that helps singers engage emotionally and encourages them to find, and overcome, technical challenges so that they can grow as musicians and as people.
Please send me an email or give me a call to discuss how we can work together on your next project.
